The Chambers Farm Family
Camping as always is free at Chambers Farm but we do have a few rules that are strictly enforced: NO ALCOHOL! NO FIREARMS! NO VIOLENCE! Break these rules and you will be removed from the grounds immediately. Everyone is welcome to come camp, dance and eat at our gatherings, you do not need to be "Indian" to enjoy our hospitality. We take great pride in our "Camp Feed" were everyone is fed for free at least one meal during the gathering. In the past we have fed a couple of thousand people during just one camp feed! The food we serve is all donated and prepared through volunteer help so we are always looking for a "few warm bodies" to assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up. Chambers Farm Gathering has always existed on donations of time, money and food from the good people who gather here twice a year. Campers, Vendors and a host of Volunteers come early to prepare the grounds before each gathering and to clean up during and after each dance. We do not set a camping fee but would rather leave it up to each individuals heart as to how much or what they are willing to donate. Some donate more, some less and some not at all. The cook shack is not the only place we need help. We consider these grounds to be sacred and a place of healing so we keep them clean not only spiritually but in reality as well. Twice a day or more if needed we pick up all the trash and haul it to the dumpster, not a pleasant job but one that must be done and "many hands make the work less hard". Before the Gathering we mow the fields, put out signs, rake and water the circle, set up tables for the food, install the sound system, etc. Some of our Vendors travel alone and would appreciate help in setting up their booths or being brought a meal, we also set up tents for medical emergencies, security, Honored Veterans and guest drums. The list goes on and on but I think you can begin to see the amount of time and effort that goes into just one gathering. We keep a list of "Things to be Done" at the cookshack and hope that you will join our family by adding your name to the list. You may also want to visit the links on the left: "Donations"-"Volunteer"-"Work Days" We do not accept reservations, it is first come-first served. There are no water, electric or sewer hookups and please do not dump either grey or black water on the grounds. It is also your responsibility to keep your site clean and bring your trash to the dumpster we do not offer trash pickup at the campsites. Fires may or may not be permitted according to local fire conditions, if permitted they must be contained and at least one adult must be present when burning, unattended fires will be extinguished by security. Pets are permitted but must be kept on a leash with a live person at the other end, please carry a bag and clean up after your pet. Pets left in camp must be securely restrained and be quiet especially at night. Disruptive pets may result in security asking you to leave. Generators that are quiet may be used but we ask that you respect your neighbors and turn them off as early as possible.
