To Chambers Farm
Financial contributions to Chambers Farm are always welcome and appreciated. Our Non-Profit status organised under The Native American Heritage Group (See "About Us" for more details) allows us to issue receipts to those who wish to claim the contribution as tax deductible. We are currently seeking corporate sponsors who will help us grow and accomplish our goals. (See "Future" to learn more about our goals) We do not accept cash or any financial donations during a gathering unless prior arrangements have been made with Michael Brill. We do keep a "bucket" marked "Donations" at the cook shack usually by the coffe pots, please feel free to contribute as this money goes to the operation of the cook shack and keeps the free coffee flowing 24 hours a day. It also helps to offset the expense of disposable materials IE: Sweetners, creamers, paper plates, cups, trash bags, etc. To arrange a financial contribution please visit our "Contact Us" page for Mike Brill. Other Ways to Contribute In addition to our "Donations Bucket" at the cook shack we also have a fun way to contribute and help support the entire operation of Chambers Farm. We call it the "Midnight Madness Auction". For years this has been a tradition at the The Farm and truly is a great experience. In years past it was always held on Saturday at midnight and was mostly attended by Vendors, Campers and a Few Brave Souls from the attending public. It started at midnight and continued on till the wee hours of the morning through rainstorms and freezing cold temperatures that should have sent sane people home to warmth and comfort, but PowWow People are not known for having good sense. We have had so much fun with it that we have decided to hold auctions during the day so more people can join in the excitement. Here is how it works: All of the vendors donate really fine handcrafted arts and crafts before the gathering begins, these items are usually displayed around the cook shack area so everyone knows what is coming up for auction. Many vendors "keep an eye" on what is displayed and compete amongst themselves to see who can donate the best and the most, some even "hold out" until just before the auction and then bring up their best wares thereby "counting coup" on their rivals. All in all the donated items pile grows larger and more interesting as time passes. The auction itself is actually conducted by a trained professional auctioneer and his assistants (these guys are more like clowns) but if you have ever attended a "real" auction the similarity ends there. I will admit that the auctions held during the day lack the flavor and craziness of the Saturday Midnight Auction but you still get an opportunity to purchase really fine, handmade items at an extremely good price and your purchase greatly helps to support the gathering. If you are a truly brave and adventerous soul then bring a chair, warm blankets, lots of laughs and money and join the family Saturday at midnight. (I haven't told you everything that takes place after midnight) Raffles are another way we raise funds to keep the gathering going and gives you a chance to win a really fine gift while contributing to Chambers Farm. Tickets are only $1.00 ea or 6 for $5.00 and that small donation may get you a prize worth many hundreds of dollars. Consider This: We do not charge an "Entrance Fee" "Parking Fee" or for "Camping". Chambers Farm Gathering is here for your enjoyment and pleasure and to share a culture that has been almost lost. We are the only "Free" gathering that I am aware of at least in the SouthEast. Where else can a family go in todays world that offers as much in one day as we do at little or no cost. We have the finest artisits and crafts people of any gathering, award winning musicians such as flute player Billy White Fox, story tellers, primitive skills experts like Bill and Suzie Gringas from North Carolina, outstanding Native American Dancers and Drums from all over the United States. Your only cost is the gas it takes you to get here, what a deal! On the other hand our cost to put on just one gathering is now in the $15,000.00 range! Can you believe that? Just a few of the costs we incur are: Dumpsters, PortaPotties, Insurance, County Permits, Food we serve at no charge, Electric, Propane, Local Law enforcement for traffic and safety, tent rentals, etc, etc. So every raffle ticket you buy, every auction item you purchase, every dollar that gets stuffed into the Donation Bucket makes this gathering possible and ensures it will continue far into the future and your child will some day be able to bring his children here. The Cherokee say: Plan for Seven Generations. If you have or would like to donate items such as building supplies, food or time then please visit the "Contact Us" page and call one of the people listed to make arrangements.
